Vacant positions for ski instructors, snowboard instructors and child minders

We are PERMANENTLY looking for good people to join our team not only on the slopes, but also in the administrative areas or in the area of child supervision. We also need good people in the area of ski service. Special training is not always necessary, but is of course very useful. The better your training, the better your chances. We have summarised the necessary information on how to become a ski instructor:

Ski instructor

Preconditions

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Appropriate skills in skiing and snowboarding

Duration of course

14 days

  • Training in skiing and snowboarding, plus introduction to trend sports (carving, skwalling, etc.)
  • Otherwise the same theory and practical subjects as for the ski instructor applicant course

 

Federal state-certified ski instructor

Preconditions

  • Must be at least 17 years of age
  • Ski instructor applicant training
  • Pass in the entrance examination
  • Appropriate practice as ski instructor applicant

Duration of course

2 x 12 days + 7 days Alpine training

  • As well as practical training (further training in instruction of children and adults) the following theory subjects are taught: English, snow and avalanche awareness, tourism, kinematics and theory of teaching, professional studies, First Aid, equipment studies, history of skiing, safety, natural history, children's education;
  • Final examinations in practice and theory: The state-certified ski instructors are employed in ski schools in beginners' courses and in further training in children's and adults' courses. The training is organised by the individual federal state ski instructors' associations.

Dual federal state-certified instructor (ski and snowboard training)

Preconditions

  • Must be at least 17 years of age
  • Ski and snowboard instructor applicant - training
  • Pass in the entrance examination
  • Appropriate practice as applicant

Duration of course

14 + 15 days plus 7 days Alpine training

  • Training in skiing and snowboarding, plus introduction to trend sports (carving, skwalling, etc.) Otherwise the same theory and practical subjects as for the federal state-certified ski instructor training (Landesskilehrer).
  • Final examination in practice and theory Certified ski instructors are employed in all areas in ski schools (from the basic level up to master level). The training is conducted by the Bundesanstalt für Leibeserziehung (BAFL) [Federal Institute for Physical Education], Innsbruck and the Austrian Ski School Association (ÖSSV).

 

Preconditions

  • Federal state-certified instructor training (Landeskilehrer)
  • Pass in the two-day entrance examination
  • Appropriate practice as federal state-certified instructor

Duration of course

2 semesters (37 and 35 days) + 7 days Alpine training

  • As well as practical training (master level in instruction of children and adults) the following theory subjects are taught: English, French, Spanish or Italian, tourism, kinematics and theory of teaching, professional studies, First Aid, equipment studies, history of skiing, safety, sports biology, skiing and the environment, training theory, political education, topography, law and various specialist lectures.
  • Final examination in practice and theory Certified ski instructors are employed in all areas in ski schools (from the basic level up to master level). The training is conducted by the Bundesanstalt für Leibeserziehung (BAFL) [Federal Institute for Physical Education], Innsbruck and the Austrian Ski School Association (ÖSSV).

Ski guide training

  • State-certified ski instructor training
  • Ski guide preparatory course

Duration of course

Ski guide preparatory course (9 days) and ski guide course (17 days)

  • In these courses, the principal subject taught is the guiding of groups off-piste (snow and avalanche awareness, safety, climbing etc. All subjects are taught in practice and theory).
  • The training is conducted by the Bundesanstalt für Leibeserziehung (BAFL) [Federal Institute for Physical Education], Innsbruck and the Austrian Ski School Association (ÖSSV).

Snowboard instructor

The snowboard instructor training is also divided into these three levels; the respective federal state ski instructors' associations conduct the applicant and federal state-certified snowboard instructor (Landessnowboardlehrer) training and the highest level, the state-certified snowboard instructor training is conducted by the Austrian Ski School Association (ÖSSV).

  • Alpine Course 2 must be successfully completed between the first and second semester.
  • The Alpine Course 2 is our own examination course and at the same time preparation for the following possible snowboard guide course.
